King Charles put Son Heung-min in quite the awkward situation by asking if Tottenham Hotspur are "in good order" in front of club chairman Daniel Levy.

The monarch visited the north London district on Wednesday to celebrate the club's work in the regeneration of the local community, with the area ranking as one of the English capital's most deprived.

During his trip, the King travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was met by Levy, who took the 76-year-old on a tour of the ground which is where he was greeted by Son. The South Korean superstar - who is coming up to 10 years at the club - has endured a difficult season, with Spurs sitting 14th in the table.

With just eight wins out of their 24 league matches this campaign, pressure has continued to mount on boss Ange Postecoglou, who witnessed his injury-ridden side crash out of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in a matter of days last week.

Despite the struggles the club have endured this season, Son was all smiles when meeting the King, who asked the captain: "So who are you playing this weekend then?" To which Son answered: “We are going to play against Manchester United on Sunday."

The King replied: "Have you got a good chance?" The optimistic 32-year-old responded: "I hope so!" The conversation between the pair - with Levy watching on in the background - took an awkward turn when His Majesty asked the winger: "Is the team in good order at the moment?"

The truthful Son thought about the question before answering: "We are in a difficult moment but we are working hard." The King then immediately asked: "Are you?" Which Son replied with a simple: "Yes". On top of the difficulties Spurs have faced this season, it's been a disappointing personal campaign for the forward.

With just six league goals in 21 games, Son is on course for his worst season since his debut year in the 2015/16 campaign, when he managed just four goals in 28 games.
