Kobbie Mainoo contract 'stance' made clear with Manchester United 'monitoring' PSG striker
Manchester United fans have been left worried over the past 24 hours as news broke of a potential hiccup regarding Kobbie Mainoo's new contract.
The talented Stockport-born midfielder has been a shining light for United over the past 18 months, with Erik ten Hag largely held accountable for his rise at Old Trafford.
But with negotiations over a new contract at a standstill, Mainoo's future has been widely discussed in the press, with interested parties thought to be lurking. With that in mind, MEN Sport takes a look at the latest transfer news and opinions...

Mainoo subject to Chelsea interest
According to news from the Daily Mail, Mainoo's contract chat with United is at a stand-off, given his representatives feel he should be rewarded for his place in the team.
Chelsea are said to be in 'pole position' when it comes to landing the talented 19-year-old, although interest from other Premier League clubs is also mentioned.
Fellow stars such as Amad and Alejandro Garnacho are also vying for new deals of their own, with the former said to be close to agreeing to fresh terms at Old Trafford.
MEN Sport says: In all honesty, it feels as if the chatter over Mainoo's future is to urge United to speed along and hand him a new contract. The teenager is a born and bred Manchester boy and we cannot see him wanting to leave Old Trafford at this stage of his career.
Kolo Muani chatter continues to sweep in
Talk of a striker arriving at United has heightened in recent weeks, especially given the uncertainty around summer arrival Joshua Zirkzee's future.
The Athletic says Ruben Amorim's side are going toe-to-toe with fellow Premier League side Tottenham to sign PSG star Randal Kolo Muani on loan until the end of the season.
Kolo Muani joined the Ligue 1 side 18 months ago but has now been frozen out of the team by manager Luis Enrique. The 26-year-old was liked by former boss Erik ten Hag, but instead, the club opted to sign Rasmus Hojlund.
MEN Sport says: A move for Kolo Muani does seem unlikely, especially given Amorim has both Zirkzee and Hojlund at his disposal. Wages may present a problem and INEOS seem to have bigger fish to fry elsewhere on the pitch this month.
