Kyle Joseph's first words after penning long-term Hull City contract following £2.5m transfer
New Hull City signing Kyle Joseph says head coach Ruben Selles was a major reason why he wanted to join the Championship club.
Joseph's move from Blackpool was confirmed on Monday evening after City struck a £2.5m deal with the League One club to sign the striker, and he penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
Selles, who is well-known for getting the best out of young players, made Joseph one of his top January targets in a bid to add more energy to a team that have been rejuvenated since he took charge before Christmas.

Bloomfield Road boss Steve Bruce was reluctant to lose the seven-goal forward but gave his blessing and talked up what City could do for his fledgling career, and in Selles, Joseph hopes his new boss will help his career continue to flourish.
“I’m made up. It’s a massive club to join," he said. "The club showed a lot of interest to get me here – the gaffer (Ruben Selles) and sporting director (Jared Dublin) – and I’m really pleased to be here.
“The gaffer is a massive reason why I wanted to join this club. I feel like he can take me to another level and really get the best out of me. That was a big thing for me to come here.
“He spoke about how he sees me fitting into his team as a high-energy striker, how my qualities can help the team and how he feels he can develop me. When I heard that, I really wanted to work underneath him.
“I’m really excited to get going now off the back of what has been a really productive season for me so far and try to improve and better it.
“I’ll give everything I can for the shirt and the badge. I’ll make sure I give one hundred and ten per cent every week and give absolutely everything to help us get up the league and be successful together.”
Joseph's move wasn't ratified in time to be eligible to face QPR at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday night, but he will be in the squad on Friday evening when City travel to South Yorkshire to take on Sheffield United.
