Kyle Walker Man City transfer update as AC Milan chief Zlatan Ibrahimovic breaks silence on talks
AC Milan senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed the Italian club are in talks to sign Manchester City captain Kyle Walker. The 34-year-old has struggled for form this season, with Pep Guardiola recently revealing he has asked to depart the Etihad Stadium after nearly eight years at the club.
"Two days ago [January 9] Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad," Guardiola revealed after their FA Cup win against Salford. "We cannot understand [what] the club did these years without Kyle. It's impossible. He's been our right-back, giving us something we didn't have.
"But now in his mind, for many reasons, he would like to explore if he can go to another country to play his last years." Asked if Walker would be granted his wish if he said he wanted to leave, Guardiola said: "Of course. [But] That doesn't mean it's going to happen because you never know the situation.

"But I'm pretty convinced there's no-one in our job that doesn't want to be there who can perform and be exactly what they want to be." Given his experience and achievements, at the very top of football, there was expected to be no shortage of suitors for Walker with Milan quickly emerging as frontrunners.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, a deal is advancing with Walker giving the green light for the move. While there's likely still a few formalities to resolve, Ibrahimovic has now confirmed that talks are ongoing for the 93-cap England international.
"Kyle Walker is a top player, a big leader... We're checking what we can do for that deal, yes. We will see," he said. Alongside his likely exit, City have been extremely busy during January's window, with deals for Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis all agreed.
More new signings could yet arrive this month amid reports Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso is being lined up as a replacement for Walker - according to the The Telegraph.
