More on this storyline

That answer could come sooner than later. Ball is questionable for the Hornets’ matchup with Philadelphia at Spectrum Center, an outing added to the schedule when neither team advanced out of the knockout stage of the NBA Cup. A sore left calf has sidelined Ball since Nov. 27, when he felt something on the final play of the Hornets’ loss to Miami. He’s missed the past seven games and has to check off another box before he is officially deemed ready to return. “I feel all right,” Ball said. “I’ll probably just do shootaround and see how that goes — the warmup before the game.” -via Charlotte Observer / December 16, 2024

Digging into the memory bank, LaMelo Ball took a moment to ponder the question and reflect on something that gets the Charlotte Hornets’ juices flowing. The sight of Ball on the floor together with Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller and Mark Williams forming a formidable quartet during game action hasn’t happened very often. Certainly not as much as anyone associated with the Hornets longs for. “It’s been a minute, so I don’t even know,” Ball said Monday. “We are going to see. We are going to see.” -via Charlotte Observer / December 16, 2024

Rod Boone: LaMelo Ball (left calf) is questionable for tomorrow's game against Philadelphia. He's missed the last 7 games with the injury and hasn't played since Nov. 27. Tre Mann (disc irritation) remains out. -via Twitter @rodboone / December 15, 2024
