Latest Tottenham injury news as five miss Arsenal with new blow revealed amid Pedro Porro update

Pedro Porro

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a new injury blow ahead of the North London Derby against Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou has spent the last few weeks working with his squad at Hotspur Way following on from a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Newcastle.

Manchester City being in the FA Cup semi-final meant the Lilywhites were not in action last weekend. In the meantime, Sunday's opponents have played four times since Spurs' last outing which included defeats to Bayern Munich and Aston Villa, however they have bounced back with wins over Wolves and Chelsea in the last seven days.

Despite the quick turnaround between games, the Gunners have not been hit by one injury blow, whereas Tottenham certainly have. Earlier this week, Destiny Udogie revealed on Instagram he had undergone surgery and the injury was severe enough to end his season early.

"A disappointing one for Destiny and for ourselves as well, because he’s been a big part of our year," Postecoglou said in a press conference. "It was just an unfortunate incident in training. He’s had the operation, it’s gone well - so hopefully it gives him time to have pre-season and get back into it. So we’ll miss him."

With Postecoglou beginning his answer on the latest injury news on the topic of Udogie, he swiftly moved onto addressing doubts surrounding Pedro Porro and Richarlison, while also revealing a new issue in midfield.

"Pedro and Richy both trained all week so they’ll both be available," he revealed. "Skippy picked up a small knock in training so he’ll be out for this weekend."

Skipp and Udogie joining Tottenham's injury list has seen absences for Arsenal rise to five with Manor Solomon, Fraser Forster and Ryan Sessegnon already confirmed out. As for Mikel Arteta's side, injury problems have been kind in recent weeks with Jurrien Timber, a long-term absentee, having the chance to feature for the senor team for the first time in eight months this Sunday.
