Ange Postecoglou has been handed some positive injury news ahead of the Premier League clash against Burnley. Heading into Saturday's clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs have lost their last four games which has significantly impacted their European qualification hopes.

Defeats to Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool has seen top-four rivals Aston Villa go to within just a point of securing a Champions League qualification spot. A victory against Vincent Kompany's side would not only confirm their relegation but it would also take Tottenham to within four points of Villa before their clash against Liverpool on Monday evening.

Injury issues have plagued Postecoglou in recent weeks with Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies and Timo Werner all ruled out for the season. That triple blow arrived after Richarlison's latest setback which has resulted in the Brazil international featuring for just 141 minutes across the last 10 games.

However, Postecoglou revealed some positive news ahead of Spurs' penultimate home game. When asked for the latest team news, he replied: "Nothing from the last week." Given Postecoglou's update, Udogie, Davies and Werner along with Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster and Manor Solomon remain as the only players out of action.

Despite Postecoglou's admission, concerns over Richarlison suffering a new injury have emerged courtesy of Brazil boss Dorival Junior. “Richarlison has not been called up for the Copa America also due to fresh injury he has suffered," he said when explaining the Tottenham star's absence from his Copa America squad.

“He’s not available, he had new injury and this is why he’s not in the list." Following his goal and assist against Liverpool, the absence of Richarlison would be a blow. With that in mind, Postecoglou was asked about the forward's future with his answer certainly not hinting he will be absent.

"Richy has been really good for us this year," he said. "You've got to remember when I took over he had scored one goal for the club and for all intents and purposes, the jury was pretty much out on him in terms of any contribution. He has got in the double figures this year, I am pretty sure, and he has missed a huge chunk of it, but every time he has played he has looked effective like he did against Liverpool.

"I think the way we play suits him to a great degree and that's why he has got the goals, but he's also worked hard himself. It's unfortunate he's had a season which is reflective of a lot of players where we have never had them for a huge chunk of time consistently."

Richarlison starting against Burnley looks very likely with Postecoglou also needing to make a decision at left-back after Emerson Royal's recent struggles with the Spurs boss dropping a huge hint on a potential change. "We have been working with Skippy the last few weeks," he admitted when asked about Oliver Skipp's introduction at left-back against Liverpool.

"When we lost Destiny and Ben, left with Emerson who is not really a left-back, we were looking around at options and in training we have been using him in that space. I thought he did well when he came on.

"The way we play with full-backs, certainly with some of the positioning, he wouldn’t be too unfamiliar with the positions he would need to take up. He is an option for us and I think we need another option because we have three games this week and we only have Emerson as a back-up full-back at the club."
