Lavia injury update, Madueke return - Three things spotted in Chelsea training before Ipswich
Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from a first defeat in 13 games with a trip to Ipswich in Premier League action. The busy schedule across Christmas and New Year continues for Enzo Maresca with a third clash in eight days to be contested on Monday evening.
The Boxing Day defeat to Fulham saw Chelsea lose ground at the top with Liverpool extending the gap to seven points. Plenty of the season remains to claw that back however, and with the Blues in the midst of a favourable run of fixtures, they will certainly fancy their chances to pick up maximum points from three of their next four games.
Considering the surprise loss last time out at Stamford Bridge, Maresca will certainly be working his squad hard in training. Reece James and Noni Madueke both missed out against Fulham but appeared to be featured prominently in the latest session with an injury update also provided on Romeo Lavia.

With that being said, football.london has taken a look at the big things spotted from Chelsea training before they face the Tractor Boys on Monday evening.
Lavia injury hint
Though only a select few photos have been uploaded thus far, Lavia is not clearly in any of them and that suggests he could miss out again. "Romeo is still recovering," Maresca revealed ahead of Fulham. "He’s much, much better and out on the pitch and working, but unfortunately, he’s not ready for the next game."
As the midfielder has now missed three weeks of action, it is very unlikely he features at Ipswich with no sign of him in full team training as of yet.
Madueke return
In his absence, Pedro Neto continued out wide but it now looks as though he could be returning to the starting XI. Given the quick turnaround, changes are expected and one of those may involve Madueke with the 22-year-old all smiles in training.
James update
Chelsea and Maresca will be extra careful to ensure Reece James does not suffer any injury setbacks. Having returned to team training earlier this month, the Blues captain was pictured in the latest session at Cobham which certainly suggests his recovery plan is on track.
Though it will be two weeks back out on the grass very soon, there is no obvious indication he will be return to a matchday squad over the coming fortnight.
