Law and District AAC athletes brave elements in cross country challenge
Eight young Law and District AAC athletes represented West of Scotland at the Inter-District Cross Country Championships in Glasgow earlier this month.
The club’s first cross country event of the new year took place at Alexander Park in Glasgow.
Under-13 athletes Emily Taylor and Abbie Boyle completed the 3000m course, finishing 15th and 25th, respectively, in a field of 77, earning silver team medals.
At the same age group, Alexander Wotherspoon won silver in the boys’ 3000m race, and also earned a silver team medal.
Under-15 athlete Lucy Taylor finished the 4000m race in a commendable 14th place in a field of 53, and also achieved a silver team medal.
In the same age group, Cameron Chambers finished 22nd, followed by Blair Beverley in 35th, in a field of 63.

Under-20 Jessica Inglis completed the 6000m course in 20th place of 59, and senior Emily McNicol completed the 8000m course in 13th, from 66 runners.
Incorporated into the event was the British Athletics Cross Country Challenge, with club members completing the fully-frozen course, alongside those representing their district.
Under-13 Helena Wotherspoon finished in 57th place, with Allyssa Bennet following in 58th.
Under-15 Freya Togneri was 49th, and under-15 Declan Hare finished 61st.
Senior Reagan Binnie was 44th and Elaine Boyle 54th.
In the senior men’s race, James Gillon was 59th, Ryan Kellock 77th, Bobby Wotherspoon 102nd, Finn Milligan 104th and Mark Milligan 109th.
