Saintfield native McCourt was in Washington to show her support, while Irish UFC star Conor McGregor was also in attendance at the inauguration ball.
McCourt has been charting her trip on social media.
She said on Instagram: "An honour to be invited to Washington DC for the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. The best time. Amazing energy and great people. America is already great again."
She added: "So excited to be on the way to the Pre Inauguration Ball. The energy in Washington is electric and so special to witness such a historic moment.
"The comeback of a life time. God doesn’t call the qualified he qualifies the called and uses the most unlikely people to carry out his will. @realdonaldtrump and his family are the greatest testament that tactics, lies, evil and the enemy will try anything stop you fulfilling gods purpose but in the end god will always win and truth always wins. Let’s celebrate."
Trump made a rousing speech following his inauguration, a global event that was attended by former presidents including Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, the Trump family, world leaders and tech giants including Elon Musk.
McCourt said afterwards: "What a speech. I don’t know what I loved more. @melaniatrump outfit or @realdonaldtrump roasting absolutely everyone sitting to his left. One nation under god."
