Daniel Farke is in contention for the Championship's manager of the month award for December. The Leeds United manager has been shortlisted for the prize alongside Burnley's Scott Parker, Sheffield Wednesday's Danny Rohl and Queens Park Rangers' Marti Cifuentes.

Farke had his side running at their opponents from all angles last month, with eight different scorers among their 13 goals. The Whites garnered 16 points from six matches to move to the top of the table, conceding just two goals in the process.

Second-placed Burnley, who face United at the back end of January at Turf Moor, went unbeaten in December. They shipped in just three goals and beat promotion rivals Sheffield United.

EFL pundit Don Goodman told Plejmo.com: "They don't have a massive cushion at this stage and I had a look at Burnley's next fixtures given that they're on a 13-game unbeaten run. They play Sunderland at home, Plymouth away and Leeds at home in the league.

"If they can get through those three games unscathed, you'd have to say they'll give Leeds a run for their money. That's because their unbeaten run has included four games against top-six teams and nine against teams in the top-half. It doesn't feel like they're going away anytime soon.

"Whereas Leeds have won three and drawn three from their last six. They're not quite in top gear. If Burnley can get one over Sunderland and Leeds, they're definitely in the title mix."

QPR, meanwhile, moved clear of the relegation zone after gaining 11 points from six December fixtures. Wednesday, who travel to Elland Road a week on Sunday, also collected 11 points from seven matches in 29 days.

The winner of the award will be announced tomorrow. The manage of the month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
