Leeds United condemn 'unacceptable' tragedy chanting during Boxing Day win at Stoke City
Leeds United have condemned tragedy chanting that took place during their Boxing Day win at Stoke City. Footage was posted on social media of a section of the Whites' travelling support at the Bet365 Stadium singing anti-Palestine lyrics in a chant referencing Israel international wide man Manor Solomon.
A Leeds United spokesperson told LeedsLive: “Discriminatory language or chanting is not acceptable and supporters could be breaking the law. The club condemns this behaviour and has a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination abuse of all kinds.
“Tough measures and sanctions are in place across all English football leagues to tackle illegal behaviours within football grounds, and this involves but is not limited to, discriminatory behaviour and tragedy chanting.”
