Leeds United dealt fresh injury blow ahead of Watford trip with defender set for knee surgery
Daniel Farke has revealed mixed news on the injury front as Leeds United prepare to take on Watford. First team regulars Joe Rodon and Daniel James are pushing for recalls after recovering from their minor knocks.
Centre-back Rodon and winger James were not risked in Saturday's FA Cup defeat to Millwall. Speaking at his press briefing today, Whites boss Farke said: "They have been back in training since yesterday. It was a precaution not to risk them (on Saturday). They are back available."
Experienced defender Max Wober was also absent as Farke's decision to field a weakened side failed to pay dividends. Farke said: "He has an ongoing knee problem and will need surgery as quickly as possible and will be out until after the next international break. He will have surgery and be out for six weeks."

Wober's latest injury setback leaves Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk as Farke's only senior centre-back options. Forward Patrick Bamford (hamstring) remains on the sidelines. "He is not back in team training and will not return for the Watford game," added Farke.
With title rivals Sheffield United and Burnley not in action until Wednesday evening, the Whites travel to Hertfordshire knowing a third straight Championship win will move them five points clear at the top of the table. United have gone five matches without conceding a goal in the league.
Watford have dropped to 10th in the table following an alarming slump in form. They are now three points off the play-offs after winning just one of their past nine league matches.
