Leeds United dressing room insider suggests side have FA Cup target while Championship call made
Leeds United may only have one priority this season in returning to the Premier League, but it appears promotion is not the only thing on the mind of this ambitious and confident squad. The Whites nervously edged their way into the fourth round of the competition with a 1-0 win over Harrogate Town, but they're hoping for better as the competition progresses with the players eager to stay a part of the competition for as long as possible.
With a fourth-round tie against either Millwall or Dagenham and Redbridge to look forward to at Elland Road next month, Leeds have been handed a good chance of progression through to the next round.
Having booked their place in the fourth round, club captain Ethan Ampadu highlighted the importance of Leeds' progression in the FA Cup by describing the result as "massive", with the Welsh international aware that history has shown anything can happen for a Championship side that gets on a good run.

Reflecting on the game, Ampadu said; “There were a lot of changes, but we've got great squad depth. I think that's obviously proven; it was still a very good line-up and I thought everyone did really well.
“There's belief in every single one of the players that play. The main thing was to go through and we wanted to put in a professional performance. We knew that they (Harrogate) were gonna be up for it. And they were.
"It's a derby at the end of the day. If we’d put away some of our earlier chances, people would look at it differently. Sometimes we might need to be more clinical. It’s massive. You never know what can happen in a Cup run. But we've got the league to play for before anything.”
Boss Daniel Farke was able to make eight changes against Harrogate in the first competitive meeting between clubs, with Ampadu stepping up into midfield after spending most of his time in defence since his return from long-term knee injury last month.
On his own progress since his return, he added: “It’s good. The rehab went well and now I’m just trying to get back to full fitness and full sharpness. I think I'm slowly getting there.”
