Leeds United final Championship points tally predicted as promotion reality clear
Leeds United are on track to finish with one of the highest points tallies in Championship history, according to the Opta Analyst.
Monday night saw Leeds take victory in arguably their most important game of the season so far, beating promotion rivals Sheffield United at Bramall Lane 3-1 thanks to late goals from Ao Tanaka and Joel Piroe. This puts Daniel Farke's side in a more comfortable position at the top of the table with a five point gap to the Blades.
With 12 games remaining this season, and with 75 points racked up, the Whites look to be on their way to another automatic promotion to the Premier League. But the Opta Supercomputer believes Farke's squad will push their points tally a lot higher.

They have predicted Leeds' expected final points to be 99.91. This pairs very nicely with an 88.42% chance of winning the title and a 98.10% chance of earning automatic promotion.
After last year's Wembley defeat to Southampton, the Elland Road faithful can sleep easier knowing their chances of playing in the playoffs is just 1.90%. With 99 points, Leeds would tie three other sides for the fifth highest points tally in Championship history.
The other teams who earned 99 points were Wolves in 2017/18, Chelsea's 1988/89 squad and Manchester City in 2001/02. If the Whites go onto win all their reaming games, they would end the season with 111 points, beating Reading's record of 106.
Sheffield United and Burnley are both expected to get 91 points, making it only the third time in history three teams have reached 90+ in the Championship.
The fight for automatic promotion between the Blades and Clarets is set to be unbelievably close. The two sides are separated by just two points and will face each other in the third final game of the season.
