Former Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas will take to the football pitch for a legends match later this month, almost a year after retiring from his professional playing career.

The 33-year-old, who played 267 games for the Whites, will be featuring in a Brentford legends team at a five-a-side tournament in Tamworth on March 23. Dallas retired from professional football last April due to the long-term knee injury that had kept him sidelined for two years.

Since hanging up his boots, Dallas has been undertaking punditry work for a number of broadcasters. He has been seen pitch-side multiple times at Elland Road, where he has always been given a great reception upon his return.

And now, the former 62-cap Northern Ireland international will lace up his boots once again to represent one of his former clubs, having played 75 games for Brentford between 2012 and 2015.

Inter Legends FC, a charity-based football team, are hosting the event that will include a number of recognisable names.

Marc Albrighton, Troy Deeney, Stephen Ireland, Frazier Campbell and Matt Derbyshire are just a few of those set to be involved on the day. Inter Legends FC announced Dallas’ involvement in the event on Wednesday.

Writing on their Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Stuart Dallas will be joining the Brentford Legends team, captained by Sam Saunders, for the upcoming 5-a-side tournament on 23rd March in Tamworth!

“Get ready to see Stuart bring his incredible talent and energy to the pitch as part of this legendary squad!”

Dallas was part of the squad that saw United promoted to the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa in 2020.
