Leeds United 'identify' potential Illan Meslier transfer replacement as exit talks emerge
After Illan Meslier's latest high-profile gaffe, Leeds United are said to be in the market for a new goalkeeper. Reports in Spain have credited the Whites with an interest in River Plate star Conan Ledesma.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claims negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs but "not yet closed". The Argentine shot-stopper only joined River Plate from La Liga side Cadiz last summer.
But Ledesma has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot, with Franco Armani preferred to him in between the sticks. His lack of first team opportunities means the 31-year-old is considering moving away from Buenos Aires. The Whites are thought to view Ledesma as good addition on the back of his eye-catching performances in Spain.

It remains to be seen whether United will look to strengthen their goalkeeping department. Meslier has started every Championship match this term but there is a growing clamour for him to be dropped after his poor showing in Saturday's draw at Hull City.
Although Meslier had a hand in all three of the Tigers' goals at the weekend, boss Daniel Farke refused to publicly criticise the Frenchman's performance. "I would be a poor leader if straight away after a game I punished individual mistakes by my players in public – I'm not willing to do it," said Farke. "The players involved in the goals can't hide that they should have done better in those situations."
Back-up goalkeeper Karl Darlow is likely to replace Meslier in their forthcoming FA Cup third round tie against Harrogate Town.
