Leeds United have always maintained they expected to have a quiet January transfer window and so far, that has been the case.

Daniel Farke has yet to shake hands with a fresh face, although there is still time for that to change. Later this week, the club will discover whether Pascal Struijk’s hamstring tendon has been damaged, which would mean many months on the sidelines.

The manager has indicated that he might look to the market for a defensive reinforcement if his fears are realised. Farke has insisted he will ‘stay awake’ for any transfer opportunities in attack too.

However, so far, his strike-force numbers have only depleted with Joe Gelhardt - who hadn’t played since October - securing a loan to Hull City. Charlie Crew and Luca Thomas have otherwise secured exits to Doncaster Rovers and Halifax Town, respectively, for the rest of the campaign.

In the meantime, United’s promotion rivals have all acquired new signings. Burnley have been the busiest with three arrivals coming through the door at Turf Moor.

Sheffield United have welcomed back a familiar face as they bolster their attacking options while Sunderland have acquired a midfielder from Roma. Take a look at the January transfer activity of the Championship top four below.
