Leeds United came from behind against Hull City, only to let their advantage slip as the Championship title race takes yet another drastic twist at the start of 2025.

Daniel Farke's men went to the MKM Stadium for a Yorkshire battle this Saturday afternoon. Second-place Burnley had failed to capitalise on Leeds' draw with Blackburn on New Years' Day, but had put themselves in a prime position to do so today with a lunchtime win against the same opponent.

Abu Kamara provided a shock to the visitors' system after five minutes over on Humberside, but strikes from Ao Tanaka, Daniel James and Joel Piroe after the break put Leeds on the brink of victory. Their opponents hit back, which made sure it is the Clarets and Sheffield United smiling at this afternoon's results.

Still, with well over half of the season's matches played, the Whites are firmly in the race to do what they could not manage last season - secure automatic promotion to the Premier League. Here, Leeds Live compares their upcoming fixtures with the current challengers:

January 11 vs Harrogate Town (H) at 5:45pm - FA Cup

The start of a good run of home matches sees Leeds begin their FA Cup campaign for the 2024/25 season. They welcome League Two side Harrogate Town for another all-Yorkshire contest, hoping to avoid an upset.

January 19 vs Sheffield Wednesday (H) at 12:00pm - Championship

Returning to Championship action, again it is a Yorkshire derby. This time it is West vs South as Sheffield Wednesday come to town, and the Owls will be no pushover as they continue their play-off push.

January 22 vs Norwich City (H) at 7:45pm - Championship

Three Elland Road matches in a row end with another clash with an added edge! Farke's former employers Norwich City are the visitors this time.

January 27 vs Burnley (A) at 8:00pm - Championship

The big one - Leeds simply cannot afford to lose to their direct title challengers, even at Turf Moor. If they do, the door may be opened for Sheffield United and Sunderland to catch up.
