Leeds United make one surprise move but it may not matter in promotion race
Leeds United's quest for promotion to the Premier League goes on with another important fixture on the horizon.
United are currently fives points clear at the top of the Championship table ahead of second-placed Sheffield United, having played a game more. Leeds also have an eight-point advantage over third-placed Burnley, who are outside the automatic promotion spots.
Daniel Farke's side extended their lead at the top of the table with an emphatic 4-0 victory against Watford on Tuesday night as they aim to move a step closer to being promoted to the Premier League. The trip to Vicarage Road came just over a week after the closure of the January transfer window.

Leeds had a quiet few weeks in the transfer market, with no new signings moving to Elland Road before the February 3 deadline. That did not stop rumours that United could have been in the market for new additions to their squad, and sections of Leeds fans believe that some business should have been completed.
In a survey conducted by Leeds Live, which acquired more than 1,400 votes, 61% of fans believe that Leeds should have signed a striker during the January transfer window. In contrast, 23% of voters believe that United are well-stocked with their current squad and did not need any new signings.
The survey also asked if Leeds fans believe that the current United squad is good enough to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League. An overwhelming 89% of fans voted yes, believing that Farke has the players available to finish in the top two spots in the Championship.
Leeds have just 15 more Championship fixtures left to play this season before the promotion race draws to an end. The finishing line is not quite in sight but they are very much heading in the right direction.
