Leeds United player ratings as Illan Meslier and the defence stand out in Coventry City victory
Leeds United underlined their status as Championship leaders with a classy 2-0 over Coventry City in a game that could have had a wider scoreline.
Joel Piroe got the scoring underway after controlling Manor Solomon's through-ball well to fire into the corner. Jayden Bogle then got one himself after a direct run saw Coventry goalkeeper Oliver Dovin fumble and allow him to prod home.
Illan Meslier has had his critics this season but he pulled off a terrific stop to deny Coventry a goal when the ball looked destined to creep into the corner.

Leeds go another game without conceding, too. Here is how the players rated.
1 - Illan MESLIER
Cleared a dangerous corner with his palms which did the job. Collected a difficult lofted ball under his crossbar before sparking an attack that almost led to a goal before making a magnificent low save not long after. Stopped one at close range late on. 8
2 - Jayden BOGLE
Can take all of the credit for his goal. Kept on running and got his reward. Was sound in defence and didn't let much go down his side. 8
6 - Joe RODON
Recovered from an early knock to command the defence well. Dealt with Ellis Simms and whoever else was thrown at him expertly. 8
4 - Ethan AMPADU
Minded Brandon Thomas-Asante and Simms fine and moved the ball when was safe. 7
3 - Junior FIRPO
Was sloppy at times in the first 20 minutes but was as promising as usual going forwards. Wasn't as astute as on Saturday but learnt from his errors as the game grew. 7
22 - Ao TANAKA
Kept the ball really well while under pressure and surrounded in tight areas. Cut out no end of balls to spark the transition. 8
44 - Ilia GRUEV
Mopped up play well and involved in the attacking build-up, mainly on the left, putting through some dangerous passes. Not all were accurate, especially in the second half. His defensive work was what Farke wanted, though, and he got it. 7
7 - Daniel JAMES
Will feel annoyed he could only lob the ball into the goalkeeper's arms amid a good chance in the first half. Often utilised the space on the right, just not to greatest effect. 7
11 - Brenden AARONSON
Got lost at times and went down too easy on occasion. Gives so much effort, which cannot be ignored, but his end product was not quite there. 6
14 - Manor SOLOMON
Some nice nimble touches and grabbed the assist for the first goal. Always a danger but also sometimes to himself - he needs to stop getting caught offside. Had superb chances and had some good chances saved. 8
10 - Joel PIROE
Did well to get the ball from Solomon under his spell and his finish was clinical. Should have scored when Solomon put him in. That aside, though, he was out of the game. 7
