Leeds United player ratings vs Hull City as Manor Solomon shines but Illan Meslier struggles
Leeds United came from behind but had to settle for a point in a thrilling Yorkshire derby against Hull City at the MKM Stadium.
The Whites got off to the worst possible start when Mason Burstow's through ball picked out Abu Kamara who chipped an advancing Illan Meslier. After the opener, Leeds struggled to settle and were fortunate not to be 2-0 down when Regan Slater hit the post.
Daniel Farke's side started the second half brilliantly and equalised thanks to Ao Tanaka's curling effort less than a minute in. The turnaround was complete just after the hour mark as Daniel James scored from close range.

The result looked to be put beyond doubt when Ivor Pandur played a loose pass straight into the path of Joel Piroe who fired home. A nervy last few moments were created when a looping ball hit Meslier's crossbar and fell into the path of Joao Pedro to score.
And that would prove costly as Kamara would fire home on the stroke of added time to rescue a point for the hosts.
Leeds starting XI
Illan Meslier - 3
Questionable decision to come out to close down Kamara for the opener. Did not cover himself in glory for Pedro's strike and that set up the comeback.
Jayden Bogle - 6
Broke down the right a couple of times.
Ethan Ampadu - 5
Solid at the back but for the opener.
Joe Rodon - 5
Struggled with Joao Pedro in the first half. Solidified as Leeds settled in the second half.
Daniel James - 6
Offered little threat down Leeds' right-hand side in the first half. Right place, right time for the second goal.
Joe Rothwell - 6
A steady if unspectacular first-half display.
Joel Piroe - 6
Didn't offer enough as the centre-forward in the first half. Got his chance in the second and made no mistake
Brenden Aaronson - 5
Failed to create much of an opening throughout.
Manor Solomon - 7
The most likely Leeds attacker in the first half. Did brilliantly for the second.
Ao Tanaka - 7
Like Rothwell, steady in the middle. Curled home an exquisite equaliser
Max Wober - 6
A fine performance on the left in the first where Leeds got the most joy. Was replaced in the second half.
Substitutes
Sam Byram - 6
Solid after replacing Wober.
Mateo Joseph - N/A
Joshua Guilavogui - N/A
Unused substitutes - Darlow, Debayo, Schmidt, Ramazani, Gnonto, Gelhardt
