Leeds United receive major Mergim Berisha update as transfer timeline set
Leeds United have received an update in their pursuit of Hoffenheim forward Mergim Berisha.
The 26-year-old emerged as a target for the Whites and is expected to leave the Bundesliga side. Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg previously reported discussions with interested clubs are 'ongoing.'
Plettenberg stated Berisha has 'no future' at Hoffenheim, and Leeds have been alert to the situation. Although a quiet month is expected on the transfer front, there is a possibility reinforcements in attack could be brought in following the setback to Patrick Bamford, who is nursing a hamstring injury.

The Whites forward has struggled to make an impact this season while Joe Gelhardt is in talks over a potential loan move to Hull City. But signing Berisha will come at a cost, with Werder Bremen also said to 'remain an option' after enquiring about his availability.
Sky Sports Germany now claim that Hoffenheim would be open to loaning him out for 18 months and include an option to buy the former German international. The 26-year-old only joined Hoffenheim 18 months ago for a fee of around £11.6million on the back of an eye-catching 2022/23 loan spell at FC Augsburg.
But he has failed to impress since joining Hoffenheim, scoring just one goal in 18 league outings.
Although United boss Daniel Farke currently only has Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph at his disposal, he has made it clear that he is not a big fan of the January transfer window. "We have to keep going developing individually and the whole squad," stressed Farke.
"We've done pretty well, we're top of the league after a busy period, unbeaten for a while and on a really good path. But we don't win 20 in a row and cruise easily.
"If we do something in January I can guarantee already right now we will still have a relatively young squad, it will be a tight race to the end and we won't be perfect in each and every situation."
