Leeds United sent Aston Villa transfer instruction after blunt Brenden Aaronson point
Former Leeds United defender Stephen Warnock says a reunion with Daniel Farke at Elland Road for Emiliano Buendia would be “ideal” for the Aston Villa playmaker, given his limited game time under Unai Emery this season.
Buendia, a number 10, played 121 games under Farke at Norwich City before leaving for Villa Park in a £33million deal in 2021. The 28-year-old missed the whole of last season after tearing his cruciate ligament just days before the start of the campaign.
The Argentine has not started a Premier League match since returning from his setback, with Emery using him sparingly this term. While he has started both League Cup matches, he has played just 71 minutes of league action, his longest stint from the bench being just 14 minutes.

There has been speculation that Buendia could be loaned out by Villa this month to allow him to get back into his groove at a club who can offer more game time. And Warnock believes he could be a perfect fit for Farke at Leeds.
Speaking to LeedsLive, the former full-back said: “You can play [Manor] Solomon in that position. He’s capable of playing there, he flits in between wide areas and that position.
“What [Brenden] Aaronson brings you is high energy, pressing, but he doesn’t quite have that quality at the top end of the pitch to find that final ball.
“In an ideal world, you would look at someone like [Emi] Buendia at Villa who is not getting the game time he needs and needs half-a-season of play to get his confidence back. He’s someone who would be absolutely ideal for Leeds.”
Buendia recorded 24 goals and 41 assists in his 121 matches under Farke at Norwich. He has only played 44 matches under Emery due to his long-term setback, scoring five times and assisting two more.
