Leeds United sent transfer warning as real Daniel Farke problem laid bare
Regardless of what division Leeds United are playing in next season, attacking reinforcements are expected to feature high on their summer shopping list.
Manager Daniel Farke would have loved to have added a new No 10 and striker to their ranks in the winter transfer window. A loan approach for Southampton's Cameron Archer was knocked back and the Whites explored the possibility of signing Adam Armstrong before the forward headed to West Bromwich Albion. No new faces came through the door and Farke will be keeping his fingers crossed that players such as Brenden Aaronson and Joel Piroe avoid picking up injuries over the coming weeks or it will leave them low on options at the top end of the pitch.
A summer move for Krasnodar attacking midfielder Eduard Spertsyan has been mooted. The Armenia international has contributed six goals and provided three assists in 18 appearances across all competitions this season. The 24-year-old, who has played the majority of his career in Russia, has made over 100 appearances for Krasnodar.

Ex-United shot-stopper Paul Robinson told Football Insider: "I’ve seen a couple of clips of him (Spertsyan). He’s versatile, attacking midfielder, can play anywhere, left, right or in the number 10 role. Whether he can cope at Championship level or Premiership level, the jury’s out, it would be a cheaper option, [but] wouldn’t be a huge marquee signing.
“He’s a talented player, there’s a lot of clubs that have looked at him and when you do watch his clips and you see how he plays, he’s a very creative, intelligent player going forward. But for me, it’s a risk signing.
“Go to the Premier League and Daniel Farke is still in charge, will they play the same system? Will they be as attacking? Will they have the license to play that many forward-thinking players? He would fit into the system.
“Can he cope with the Premier League? Can he cope with the Championship? I’m not sure, but there’s a certain amount of talent around the player because he’s been watched by a lot of people.”
