Daniel Farke is wary of the threat his former club Norwich City will pose tonight as Leeds United look to extend their unbeaten Championship run to 10 matches.

A depleted Canaries team head to West Yorkshire aiming to get their play-off push back on track after losing to Sheffield United last time out. Johannes Hoff Thorup's injury-decimated squad will be tested to the maximum at fortress Elland Road.

But Farke, who is unbeaten in five meetings against City since taking charge of the Whites, has warned his players to underestimate the Canaries at their peril. He said: “A team who has had one, two or three poorer results are highly motivated. Especially in a game where they don’t have that much pressure, away at Elland Road. No-one really expects too much.

“We have played against them quite a lot and more or less tight games, apart from the second leg of the play-off semi-finals. They are a really good group who play with intensity, who are brave.

“I would compare them a little bit with Sheffield Wednesday in the sense they will go for it, they go with intensity, they want to press high. They also have exciting young players. I think they will be desperate to look for a late push into the play-offs.

“It is fair to say they were struggling in recent weeks with some injuries and unavailability. But Josh Sargent is back, who is their main striker and a top striker in this league. Also Borja Sainz will come back at some point.

"They are still a dangerous side with a mix of experienced players and young talents. A side I rate really, really highly. I expect a difficult, tight game but in the right moments we must defend well and use our chances.”

Farke has hinted he will rotate his squad for their second match in four days. In-form winger Manor Solomon sustained a hamstring problem in the victory over Sheffield Wednesday and may not be risked.

Farke said he was "carefully optimistic" Brenden Aaronson (ankle) would be involved in their latest Championship assignment. With Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani waiting in the wings for an opportunity to impress, Aaronson could be rested and drop to the bench if Farke opts to freshen up his attacking options.

Key defender Pascal Struijk and striker Patrick Bamford (both hamstring) remain sidelined.
