It is first versus tenth in the Championship at Vicarage Road tonight. Given Watford have won just once since Boxing Day, Leeds United will fancy their chances of picking up maximum points in Hertfordshire.

But the Hornets are in the top half of the table and remain in the mix to finish in the play-offs. "They were pretty close to being the first team to win at Sunderland (on Saturday) the only team who came closer was us to be honest," said Whites manager Daniel Farke.

"They are a physical side, robust side. Some of their key players are or were not available; you always have different periods during a long Championship season. Their home record was quite impressive, perhaps not in last weeks, they had this situation where several key players were not available. They were really difficult to beat, especially in the first half of the season.

"We travel with respect, but we’ve proven even in tough places, we are competitive."

Farke will be without the services of Max Wober (knee) and Patrick Bamford (hamstring). Wober faces an extended spell on the sidelines, with the defender set to go under the knife this week.

Bamford has yet to resume team training. His last outing came as a substitute on New Year's Day against Blackburn Rovers.

Joe Rodon and Daniel James were included in the travelling party, having recovered from their minor injuries.
