Leeds United have reportedly submitted an offer for Uniao de Leiria midfielder Dje D'avilla.

The Whites have tabled a bid in the region of £3.4million (€4m), according to Portuguese journalist Sebastiao Sousa Pinto. Although that fee is what it would take for Leiria to part ways with the midfielder, it's said that Leeds face obstacles.

A number of clubs are thought to be interested in D'avilla, but a move to England is 'considered difficult' due to potential issues with the player obtaining a visa permit. Leeds are yet to make a signing this month but continue to be linked with potential incomings on the transfer front.

D'avilla has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese second division side, starting in all but two games in Liga Portugal 2. Although he is under contract for another two years after joining from Al Hilal in 2022, Leiria are open to parting ways with the Ivorian this month.

Charlie Crew and Joe Gelhardt departed Elland Road on loan moves this week. The latter joined Hull City on loan following a lack of game time this season while Crew moved to Doncaster.

Gelhard's switch is designed to help the 22-year-old to regain his form and confidence. The 22-year-old had only started one match this campaign for Leeds - the 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Middlesbrough back in August.

After just three starts since the start of the 2022/23 season, he struggled to cement a regular place in the squad. As a result, Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Bamford has also been linked with a winter exit despite the fact he is injured until the end of January. Blackburn Rovers are thought to be admirers of the striker.
