Leeds United team news vs Sheffield Wednesday as Daniel Farke makes Wilfried Gnonto call
Daniel Farke has decided to bench Wilfried Gnonto as he names his Leeds United starting XI for this afternoon's Championship meeting with Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.
Manor Solomon starred against Harrogate Town in the FA Cup last weekend with his assist teeing up Largie Ramazani's winner. The Israeli has now provided an assist in his last two outings and has been rewarded by being named on the left flank with Gnonto rotated out.
Gnonto has now started just one of his last six Championship matches, despite starting against Harrogate. The Italian failed to score against League Two opposition on Saturday and has not netted for more than a month. Daniel James, meanwhile, has been reinstated on the right flank.

The manager underlined that Illan Meslier would remain his number one despite his blunder against Hull City last week and the Frenchman comes back in between the sticks. Jayden Bogle comes in at right-back with Sam Byram at left-back once more.
With Pascal Struijk out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury, captain Ethan Ampadu drops back into central defence alongside Joe Rodon, who continues his streak of starting each Championship match this season.
Ampadu's centre-back role means Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell start the match in midfield. Earlier in the week, Farke confirmed that Brenden Aaronson is, unsurprisingly, his first choice pick at number 10, and his inclusion means he has started each of the last 25 league matches.
Joel Piroe is back in the line-up having missed last week's win over Harrogate due to muscle complaints. He sits as United's top scorer with 10 goals - if he scores today he will have netted in consecutive outings for the first time since September.
Starting XI: Meslier; Bogle, Ampadu, Rodon, Byram; Tanaka, Rothwell; James, Aaronson, Solomon; Piroe.
Subs: Darlow, Schmidt, Firpo, Wober, Gruev, Guilavogui, Ramazani, Gnonto, Joseph.
