Leeds United transfer shock and Championship title change in things to expect this Christmas
One thing we are certain we can predict this Christmas period is indigestion and the Turkey food sweats as Christmas dinner gives way and we start to get ready for a different type of feast, the Boxing Day treat Leeds United will hopefully have in store on the evening.
Christmas will bring with it much more than that and three potential points. And with that in mind we've looked ahead to what could be in store this festive season.
Championship title talk

As things stand Leeds United's sole aim is to ensure they are a Premier League club once again come the start of next season. Whether that is achieved by finishing as champions or from second place is not of importance right now.
It could become of much greater importance when we get to March and beyond as the league season begins to wind up and the title is potentially on the line. As thing stand Sheffield United are in pole position for that crown, boasting a three point lead.
Should the Blades still sit top of the pile come the conclusion of the first weekend in January then they will rightfully be called favourites for the title given the fixture run they have. Starting Boxing Day by playing third-placed Burnley, they then take on West Brom (seventh), Sunderland (fourth) and Watford (eighth) in what is a nightmare run over such a short period.
If Chris Wilder's side come through that unscathed they will take some stopping this season.
Transfer shock
Expect to see Leeds United linked with a whole host of players over the next few days. We're about to see the January transfer window open and ahead of that will come an avalanche of transfer rumours and gossip centred around Leeds United. It's always the case and will be so again.
There will be shock transfer news, major players tipped to leave and some surprise incomings all linked with the Whites over Christmas as the transfer rumour mill is fed as well as everyone else over Christmas.
In truth what is likely to happen in January is Patrick Bamford won't leave the club despite links away, no regular first team players will depart and there will be no incomings as Daniel Farke works with what he has for the rest of the season. But let's not let that spoil the fun of getting excited by transfer talk and rumours.
Four will become three
The Christmas period is so key in helping shape the season because traditionally so many points are up for grabs in such a short period of time. This holiday season we've 12 points up for grabs and with that comes the real possibility the four teams setting the pace at the top of the table could become three.
There are just five points between Sheffield United at the top of the table and Sunderland in fourth, but can Burnley and Sunderland maintain their unbeaten runs over Christmas? Sunderland keep leaving it very late and have Jobe Bellingham to thank for saving them, but how long can they keep doing that and will they come unstuck Boxing Day at Blackburn Rovers? After Blackburn it's a tricky trip trip Stoke City and then they play the table-topping Blades.
Unless the Black Caps find their best form or continue their knack of finding late winners, could we see them drop off? It's a possibility and with that four will become three, for now at least, in the race for the title.
