Leeds United vs Harrogate Town postponement latest as ice threatens FA Cup tie
Leeds United and Harrogate Town fans will be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for the remainder of Friday and Saturday amid fears of an FA Cup postponement this weekend.
Daniel Farke's side welcome the League Two opposition to Elland Road for the very first time in a competitive fixture. In pre-season, Leeds made the 20-mile trip to Harrogate and won 3-0.
The meeting before that ended 1-1 but that was another pre-season fixture, so there is genuine excitement about these two teams facing off in a competitive match. However, that excitement has been tempered by the threat of the match being postponed.

Icy conditions have hit Leeds throughout the week since Sunday, which has led to concerns as to whether the match will go ahead or not. According to the Met Office, temperatures will drop to as low as -2C overnight Friday going into Saturday, which could lead to treacherous conditions on the road.
Fortunately, there are no weather warnings currently in place for Leeds, so the hope will be that the match is safe to go ahead. There is unlikely to be an issue with the pitch, as modern technology at Elland Road should keep it playable. LeedsLive understands that there are no Elland Road pitch inspections scheduled at present.
However, the more wider concern is whether the roads and pavements surrounding the stadium will be deemed safe enough for supporters to travel on. Last night, matches in Sheffield and Liverpool went ahead despite similarly freezing conditions, so the hope will be that it is a barometer for Leeds on Saturday evening.
Tonight's Leeds United U21s Premier League 2 clash with Manchester United has been postponed due to the weather. This game was due to be played at York City's LNER Stadium.
Farke will be hopeful the match shall survive the deep freeze as his side look to bounce back from a gut-wrenching draw at Hull City on Saturday. The Whites were cruising to victory against their Yorkshire rivals, only for Joao Pedro and Abu Kamara to score in the final ten minutes of normal time to rescue a point for the relegation strugglers.
