Leeds United warn season ticket holders about Elland Road no-shows with renewal message
Leeds United have reminded season ticket holders at Elland Road that they are at risk of not being invited to renew their passes for the next campaign if they fail to attend the required number of home games this term.
In order to qualify for next season’s invitation, general admission season ticket holders must record attendance at 80 per cent of the club’s Championship home matches - which is 18 league games.
The club have said that some supporters will now not meet this threshold even if they go to every single home match from here on in, and so will not be invited to renew.

Others will need to record presence for each of the remaining fixtures to qualify. This initiative was brought in at the start of the season.
Leeds have described the no-shows as a “problem” given the “overwhelming demand” for tickets. At one match this season, 3,000 season ticket holders did not attend nor hand their ticket back in for redistribution.
“We want Elland Road to be as full as possible in the run up to the end of season and ensuring Season Tickets are being used is an important factor in this,” a statement added.
“A small number of Season Ticket Holders will not be able to meet the 80 per cent threshold based on their home league attendance to date and will not be invited to renew.
“Some supporters will be required to attend all remaining home league games including our fixture against Sunderland on Monday to ensure they are invited to renew their Season Ticket.”
Attendance can be recorded in three ways, the first and most obvious of which is personal attendance. There is also the option for a friend or family member to use the ticket by using the club’s ‘Ticket Forwarding Scheme’.
The final choice is to put the seat up for resale via the official ‘Ticket Exchange’ system set up by the club. This must be done no later than 90 minutes before kick-off.
Last April, financial figures showed that gate receipts for the 2022/23 year - the season Leeds were relegated from the Premier League - rose to £29.9m, a jump of £5m. Figures for the 2023/24 annum, the first term back in the Championship, are due to be released this April.
