Leeds United have some difficult fixtures on the horizon, but first they must take on Sunderland. The Whites will lock horns with the Black Cats at Elland Road on Monday night as they both look to climb the Championship table.

Daniel Farke's side returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening as they defeated Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road. While Leeds have won four of their last five games in the Championship, they were on the end of a loss when they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Millwall last week end.

The Whites will claim first place if they can beat Regis Le Bris' side on Monday – but there's still lots of hard work to be done. So, with that being said, Leeds Live has looked at Leeds' fixtures that follow their clash against Sunderland and how they compare to their promotion rivals.

Sheffield United (A) – Championship – Monday, February 24

Under the lights at Bramall Lane on a cold Monday night: now that's proper football. Sheffield United will be just as determined as Leeds to prove their title credentials in what could be a promotion-defining bout.

West Bromwich Albion (H) – Championship – Saturday, March 1

After a week or so on the training pitches, Leeds are back in action at Elland Road. While the Whites eye automatic promotion to the Premier League, West Bromwich Albion will be desperate to distance themselves from other play-off place hopefuls.

Portsmouth (A) – Championship – Sunday, March 9

Next up, a trip down south. Portsmouth appear to be building some momentum; they've won each of their last two games, almost snatched a point from Sheffield United and held Burnley to a goalless draw.

Millwall (H) – Championship – Wednesday, March 12

Leeds will be determined to get their revenge after Alex Neil's side dumped them out of the FA Cup fourth round. Aside from a 5-1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle at the start of February, Millwall have enjoyed some decent results lately.

Queens Park Rangers (A) – Championship – Saturday, March 15

QPR stormed past Derby County on Friday night, netting four at Loftus Road. With Leeds' infamous record on the road to London clubs in mind, this could be a tricky clash.
