A new floor has been installed in the Legends Lounge after the old one had come up following the refurbishment over the summer.

As part of improvements being made to The Nigel Eady County Ground by Swindon Town, they refurbished the Legends Lounge bar, which was unveiled for the opening game of the season against Walsall in August.

However, there was an early issue which saw the flooring coming up under people’s feet and falling apart.

In the November minutes for the Advisory Board, CEO Anthony Hall revealed that the flooring was going to be replaced over the Christmas period and should be ready for the home match against Colchester United on New Year’s Day.

However, due to delays with the contractor, this did not occur and was pushed back, but ahead of the Tranmere Rovers match on Tuesday, the new floor was in place.

The new wooden floor has a backing which will prevent it from suffering from the same issues as the old one.

Fans on social media commented upon the new flooring, with most believing it looked a lot nicer than the previous one.

The work also saw the old tables brought back into the Legends Lounge, providing more space for people to sit down before matches.
