Leicester City are said to have shown an interest in versatile Hoffenheim attacker Marius Bulter ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

However, the Foxes’ hopes of securing a deal for the 31-year-old have seemingly been thwarted. The player has reportedly taken a firm stance when it comes to any potential suitors trying to snap him up.

According to Sky Sports Germany (via Get Football News Germany), Bulter has had a number of clubs eyeing his services. City are reportedly among them, along with Bundesliga side Augsburg.

However, the winger has apparently rejected all offers. It is said he wants to stay at Hoffenheim amid his contract running until 2026 and will not be going anywhere before the winter window closes.

City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has seemingly hinted there will be a lack of reinforcements at the King Power Stadium before Monday’s 11pm transfer deadline. Asked multiple questions about the potential for new signings after his team’s 4-0 defeat to Everton, the Dutchman focused his answers on the capabilities of his current squad. Right-back Woyo Coulibaly may be the only arrival.

Asked if he could expect new signings before Monday, van Nistelrooy said: “The focus is on this squad. We are better than we showed today, that is clear. We go back to work next week and to prove that in the next game.”

Then asked, in the event of no new players arriving, whether it would be a case of the club failing to keep to their word over transfers, he said: “It’s about getting more out of these players because they’re better than our performance today. If you see last week, what they’re capable of, and also in performances before that against Champions League opposition, then it’s getting the best out of those players again and focusing on these players.

“It’s about improving them and their consistency, it’s not one game but game after game, to get out of this situation. That is the focus and other than that, I don’t have a focus.”
