Leicester City eye shock transfer return for Chelsea man as Ruud van Nistelrooy makes move
Leicester City have reportedly joined the race against multiple Italian clubs for the signature of out-of-favour Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei.
The 21-year-old spent the first half of last season's Championship promotion-winning campaign on loan at the King Power Stadium before returning to his parent club last January. Casadei bagged three goals and two assists in 25 games for the Foxes as he assisted in their stellar league-winning form, however he has struggled for game time this season at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian midfielder has only appeared six times since the start of the campaign, five in the UEFA Europa Conference League and once in the Carabao Cup, and a move away from the club could help kickstart his young career and reduce Chelsea's large squad size.

According to the Mail Online, Casadei has drawn an enquiry from Leicester who face competition from Italian trio Lazio, Torino and Monza.
The Italy under-21 international came through the ranks at Serie A giants Inter Milan before making the switch to West London as a 19-year-old in August 2022. He has been regarded as one of the most promising Italian talents of his generation due his technical and physical attributes.
Foxes boss Ruud van Nistelrooy will reportedly be keen to add some composure to the Foxes' midfield ahead of an intense second half of the season. Leicester currently lie 19th in the Premier League, two points from safety, and face a tough slog to avoid relegation to the Championship after just one season back in the top tier of English football.
