Conor Coady misses out for the first time under Ruud van Nistelrooy as the Leicester City manager makes just one change to his line-up for the crunch Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Coady started all of van Nistelrooy’s first eight games in charge but drops to the bench at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night. Jannik Vestergaard comes in to replace him after recovering from injury.

That means that Wout Faes, who made his first start under the Dutchman in Saturday’s 6-2 victory over QPR, scoring a spectacular goal to wrap up the win, keeps his spot. James Justin and Victor Kristiansen complete the back four, with Jakub Stolarczyk again in goal.

With just one change made, it means Facundo Buonanotte keeps his place on the right wing. The Argentinian wins the battle with Jordan Ayew and Kasey McAteer to start two games in a row for the first time under van Nistelerooy.

Bilal El Khannouss and Stephy Mavididi join the attacking line of three behind Jamie Vardy. He starts a second game in five days, a rarity since he reached his late 30s. The number nine turned 38 on Saturday.

In midfield, Harry Winks keeps his place despite two poor errors against QPR, with Boubakary Soumare alongside him. The bench has the usual suspects included, but there’s no place in the squad for Caleb Okoli.

City (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Winks, Soumare; Buonanotte, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy. Subs: Iversen, Thomas, Coady, Choudhury, Skipp, McAteer, De Cordova-Reid, Ayew, Daka.
