Incoming Leicester City signing Woyo Coulibaly has bid farewell to Parma as he prepares to move to the King Power Stadium. The right-back posted on social media on Monday to thank the Italian club for an “unforgettable adventure”. He’s set to secure a £3m switch to City in the coming days.

Coulibaly, who can also play at left-back, has spent the past three-and-a-half years at Parma since being signed by Enzo Maresca from Le Havre in his native France. With Parma, he won Serie B last season and has been a regular for them back in the top flight, where they currently have their heads just above water in a tight relegation battle.

After he was left out of Parma’s squad on Sunday for their 1-0 defeat to Genoa, Coulibaly posted on social media: “A simply unforgettable adventure lived with you. Thank you for everything, Parma.”

City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy was not willing to let anything slip over Coulibaly’s arrival. Asked about the 25-year-old at his press conference on Monday, he said: “We cannot confirm any news on any new player. Let’s see how things develop.

“We haven’t been opening up on positions we’re looking at. It’s not the best thing to do. We’ll keep that on the inside, and what is possible. It’s better to keep it indoors.”

But asked if a signing could be made before Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Fulham, he said: “It could happen but we have to wait and see how things are happening. It’s why the focus is on performing and winning. After that, it’s about signing players.”
