Lennox Lewis' enormous net worth, rarely seen wife and Anthony Joshua feud
Lennox Lewis returns to the world of boxing this evening (December 21), albeit on presentational duties rather than fighting.
The 59-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion will join Becky Ives, Carl Frampton and Steve Bunce to bring fight fans coverage of Tyson Fury's highly-anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk for TNT Sports, giving his take live from the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.
It's the second time that the 'Gypsy King' and the undefeated Ukrainian have met this year, with the two men clashing at the same venue in May when Usyk was able to clinch a narrow split-decision victory over his long-time rival. Not only did the 37-year-old hand Fury the first loss of his professional career while bolstering his own record to 22-0, but he also became the heavyweight division's first undisputed champion since Lewis back in the late '90s.

With a combined record of 42-2-1, Lewis was a force to be reckoned with in his prime - besting a who's who of the heavyweight division before hanging his gloves up in 2003. The pugilist got the better of Frank Bruno, Shannon Briggs, Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko, amongst many others, before calling it a day, but his biggest feat is undoubtedly becoming the undisputed champion of the world in November 1999.
Lewis initially took on Evander Holyfield in May of the same year, retaining his WBC title following a split-draw. However, the rematch six months later changed his life forever, collecting Holyfield's WBA and IBF straps, as well as the at-the-time vacant IBO belt to become an undisputed champion.
But what else do we know about one of the all-time boxing greats away from the squared-circle? Here, Wales Online breaks it down...
What is Lennox Lewis' net worth?
Thanks to his work both inside and outside of the ring, it is reported that Lewis has raked in an astonishing fortune of around £112million ($140m). The British-Canadian made a name for himself representing the North American country at Olympic level, clinching gold at the 1988 Summer Games in Seoul - as well as gold medals during the Commonwealth Games and the North American Championships - before transitioning into the world of professional boxing in 1989.
According to Planet Sport, Lewis made millions across his 14-year boxing career - pulling close to six million PPV buys through Showtime and HBO. However, his largest estimated payday came in the form of his 2002 KO win over Mike Tyson, in which he received a guarantee of £14m ($17.5m).
Outside of the ring, Lewis has obviously lent his hand to presenting with TNT Sports, worked with Mimi's Rock to develop supplements for fellow athletes, and as a chairman at the Sun Seven Stars Investment Group.
Who is Lennox Lewis' wife?
Lewis met Violet Chang when he was on vacation in Jamaica in 2000. The former beauty-pageant winner was born in the country but was raised in New York. While little is known about Lewis' wife, the two tied the knot in 2005 and have gone on to have four children together - Landon, Ling, Leya and Leviah.
While Lewis and Chang have kept their relationship out of the limelight for the most part, he dubbed her the "foundation" of his family in a sweet birthday post back in February 2022. Sharing several snaps of them together on Instagram, he wrote: "Today I am blessed to celebrate the completion of another trip around the sun with my lovely wife Violet.
"She is the foundation of our family and my partner in life, love and happiness. Just like the flower, she symbolises truth and loyalty, while embodying modesty, spiritual wisdom and humility. Happy Earthday Violet. You are the flower girl that makes my life bloom. Thank you for choosing me."
Feud with Anthony Joshua
Lewis and Anthony Joshua found themselves embroiled in a war with words following AJ's shock loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019. Joshua was undefeated and in possession of a 22-0 record going into his first bout with Ruiz Jr in the June, having collected the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles and therefore being a heavy favourite to defend his collection.
However, 35-year-old Ruiz Jr stunned the world when he knocked out Joshua in the seventh round of their bout. After the action had unfolded, Lewis called into question the ability of AJ's trainer, Rob McCracken, as he tweeted: "I can't look at that fight and agree that AJ was fully prepared."
Never one to pull his punches, Joshua responded in an interview with Sky Sports by calling one of the greatest British boxers of all time a "clown" while insisting that the two are not "cut from the same cloth". He said: "Lennox is a clown. I don't respect Lennox."
When the interviewer argued that Lewis had left an impressive legacy in the world of boxing, Joshua interjected: "So? So am I. Me and Lennox are not the same. My legacy is to sit back and enjoy the younger generation coming up, and not to be involved. Just to appreciate what it takes to get there.
"Lennox isn't like that. Me and Lennox are cut from a different cloth." In response to the tirade, Lewis once more took to X to write: "Disappointed in AJ’s words but I understand that this 'jealousy' narrative was only fabricated AFTER I criticized them for Wilder negotiations. All of the sudden I'm a hater. Ask who benefits from such a simple minded narrative? Not AJ. Not me."
Joshua ultimately had his revenge on Ruiz Jr in a December 2019 rematch, having his hand raised by unanimous decision after 12 rounds at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia. Although his career has faltered since with three losses in his last eight fights.
