Levi Colwill hint, Malo Gusto role - Three things spotted in Chelsea training
Chelsea have just three games of the 2023/24 season remaining, with the next fixture this Saturday against Nottingham Forest.
Fresh off the back of a 5-0 win over West Ham United, the Blues now have their eyes set on qualifying for Europe. Mauricio Pochettino's side currently sit seventh in the Premier League, which may be enough to qualify for next season's Europa Conference League, should Manchester City win the FA Cup.
It's possible Chelsea finish fifth or sixth, however, although they would probably have to win their remaining games against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Bournemouth. "I don't want to say nothing because from the beginning of the season I said the objective always is to win because we are Chelsea but that created too much pressure. The team is now going to be focusing to rest tomorrow and Tuesday prepare for the game on Saturday," Pochettino said after the win over West Ham.
"The objective for us is to be mature and to keep the momentum and to compete, improving in every single game. We are going to try to be in Europe. It's going to be good for the team and the players to be in Europe next season."
Ahead of Saturday's fixture at the City Ground, the Chelsea squad has been hard at work at Cobham on the training pitches. Here's what football.london spotted in the latest batch of training pictures released on the official Chelsea website.
Levi Colwill back
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has not played for the Blues since the 2-2 draw at Brentford at the beginning of March. The 21-year-old has been nursing a toe injury but returned to the squad on Sunday for the game against West Ham.

While Colwill did not come on against the Hammers, his return is a timely boost for Pochettino. Capable of playing centre-back or left-back, the England international has played 32 times this season and has largely impressed.
The defender was among the stars training at Cobham on Tuesday as he continues to work his way back to full match fitness. Colwill will be aiming for another place in the matchday squad against Forest and could even be handed some minutes at some stage of the contest.
Malo Gusto role
Another working his way back to fitness after overcoming a knee injury is Malo Gusto. The right-back came on as a late substitute against West Ham and may even be handed a start against Nottingham Forest.
Gusto, who alongside Colwill was pictured in a orange bib, could be seen in the images making a pass as he aims to try and convince Pochettino and the medical staff that he is capable of starting from the off.
Happy Cole Palmer
Not a lot has gone wrong for Cole Palmer this season. The attacking midfielder has had quite the first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 24 goals in all competitions, with 21 of those coming in the Premier League. Palmer was among the stars training at Cobham and was pictured in running trainers, most probably as part of a warm up or warm down.
The 22-year-old was all smiles in the images and will be hoping to add yet more attacking returns this weekend.
