Lewis Stevenson and Paul Hanlon Hibs transfer exits confirmed as tribute paid to club legends
Club legends Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson are both set to leave Hibs at the end of the season.
The pair are both out of contract this summer and the Easter Road side have now confirmed those will not be renewed and the pair will move on to pastures new. Stevenson, 36, and Hanlon, 34, will now be on the lookout for a new club for next season unless one or both decides it's time to hang up the boots.
Both were part of the historic Scottish Cup win in 2016 which ended a painful 114-year wait for that competition and the celebrations which followed will live long in the memory. And having been in the side that won the League Cup in 2007, Stevenson is the only player in the club's history to EVER win both trophies.
They have over 1,100 Hibs appearances between them and will go down as bona fide club legends.
The Gordon Family commented: “We’d like to begin by thanking Paul and Lewis for everything they have done at Hibernian FC. What they have achieved at the Club is absolutely magnificent and their names will forever be written in the Club’s history.
“They will always be considered among the greats at Hibernian FC, which is down to the tremendous roles they’ve played both on and off the pitch. They will always be friends of the Club.
“Our final home game against Motherwell will give us a chance to bid an emotional farewell to both Paul and Lewis, and give them the send-off they deserve.”
