Lindelof, Shaw, Mount - Manchester United injury news and return dates ahead of Rangers clash
Manchester United will be hoping to take a massive stride towards the last-16 of the Europa League when they welcome Rangers to Old Trafford on Thursday night.
United are currently seventh in the Europa League table, one place and one point ahead of the Gers. The top eight teams will automatically progress to the knockout stages and avoid the lottery of the play-off round in February.
However, United head into the clash with the Scottish club having won just one of their last eight matches in regulation time. They were beaten 3-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, marking a fourth defeat in their last five at home.

With head coach Ruben Amorim currently fighting a losing battle in his quest to turn United's fortunes around, he needs as many players available to him as possible. With that said, here is all very latest on the injury front ahead of the meeting with Rangers...
Jonny Evans
Injury: muscle.
Centre-back Evans has missed each of United's last five matches with a muscle problem he suffered in December. He last played when he scored in the 4-3 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals prior to Christmas.
He was on the bench for the subsequent defeats to Bournemouth and Wolves but has not featured in a matchday squad since. He was not part of the open training session that United held in front of the media on Wednesday morning at Carrington.
Possible return date: unknown.
Victor Lindelof
Injury: unknown.
Lindelof has not been involved for United in any capacity since he was taken off at half-time in the aforementioned cup defeat to Tottenham. The club has not disclosed neither the extent nor the nature of his injury throughout his time on the sidelines.
However, he trained with the rest of his teammates in front of the media on Wednesday morning. However, Amorim confirmed in his post-match press conference he will not be included against the Gers, saying: "[So] just Vic [back in training], but he's not in the squad."
Possible return date: unknown.
Luke Shaw
Injury: hamstring.
Left-back Shaw has been unavailable since United beat Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford on December 1. He announced two days later that he had suffered a "small setback" in his recovery from a previous injury, suffering a fresh muscle issue.
United head coach Amorim sympathised with the England international and confirmed last week that he could return within the next fortnight.
He said: "Luke Shaw is nearer than Mason Mount. He will take a little bit longer. But for sure, Luke, we will see in the next week or two. We will see if he's returning."
He added on Wednesday that Shaw is continuing to recover "really well".
Possible return date: January 30 (FCSB A).
Mason Mount
Injury: leg.
Mount has been missing since being forced off in the first half of the Manchester derby victory over City more than a month ago. Amorim confirmed a few days later that he would be out for "several weeks" with a leg injury.
He has been working hard on his rehabilitation behind the scenes and is understood to be making good progress. Like Shaw, he is edging closer towards a return.
Speaking on Wednesday, the United boss said: "Luke is recovering really well. Mason Mount, it's good to see them on the pitch."
Possible return date: unknown.
