Linfield ace Jamie Mulgrew on Glentoran 'struggles' and embracing Blues pressure
Jamie Mulgrew admits there is no hiding place from Linfield 's recent "struggles" against Glentoran. The Blues have yet to beat their bitter rivals this season, losing three out of their four meetings across all competitions.
The 'Big Two' are on collision course once again this weekend, this time in a huge Irish Cup last-16 clash at the Oval on Friday night.
Declan Devine's side knocked Linfield out of the BetMcLean Cup earlier this season, and have also claimed two Premiership wins over David Healy's men. Last time out the sides played out a 0-0 draw on Boxing Day.

Influential club captain Mulgrew says there is "no hiding" from his side's poor derby record this season, but insists his side will be up for the fight in East Belfast.
Speaking ahead of this week's games against Crusaders and Glentoran, Mulgrew - who is currently sidelined through injury - told Linfield TV: "We've had our struggles against Glentoran this year. There's no hiding away from that. The proof is there for everyone to see.
"It's the Irish Cup as well which gives it that extra bit of incentive. It is one game, and you only get one chance at it.
"We obviously treat both games (Crusaders and Glentoran) as massive games in the season, as they all are. But this week, if we can get the two wins it would really give us the platform to drive on and have a successful season."
This week Mulgrew signed a new one-year contract extension with Linfield, which will take him up to the end of the 2025/26 season. It will also see the 38-year-old midfielder mark 20 seasons at Windsor Park.
Asked how he handles the relentless pressure and expectation at the club, Mulgrew said: "If I am being honest, I don't find it overly difficult. I enjoy it.
"I enjoy the changing room I have been involved in over the years. I enjoy the challenge and pressure. I basically enjoy playing for Linfield. It is an honour snd privilege and something I am proud of.
"There are times you get down, when you're not winning games. And that heaps pressure eon everyone.
"Bit it is important to have belief in each other. We have had setbacks this season but we have bounced back and proved we are a good team collectively.
"We have to keep showing that desire going forward."
