LUKE Littler will get his Premier League Darts defence underway against the man he beat to become world champion earlier this month.

The PDC have confirmed the quarter-final line-up for 14 of the 16 nights of regular-round action in preparation for the start of darts’ annual big arena roadshow.

Littler and his seven fellow competitors will start the action in Belfast on Thursday, February 6, and the Warringtonian teenager will be up against Michael Van Gerwen in his first match.

“The Nuke” beat Van Gerwen 7-3 earlier this month to win the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.

Each night will be played in a knockout format and will have a nightly winner, with points allocated based on how many wins each player picks up to contribute to an overall table.

Those in the top four after 16 nights will then face off in the play-offs at London’s O2 Arena on Thursday, May 29.

Littler, whose first ever run in the Premier League ended with him winning last year’s tournament having come top of the league table, is the 11-8 favourite to retain his crown and is the 9-4 favourite to claim Night One in the Northern Irish capital.

Every night of Premier League Darts will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
