Liverpool agree deal with eight-goal striker who was spotted at grassroots level
Josh Sonni-Lambie has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, the club have announced. Born in 2007, the 17-year-old striker joined the Reds at U14 level after being spotted playing grassroots football in London.
He was promoted to the Reds’ U18s squad - under the tutelage of manager Marc Bridge-Wilkinson - as a 16-year-old last campaign. The young forward scored his first goal at that level on the final day of last season at Derby County.
After scoring twice in preseason, he has scored five in 12 U18 Premier League appearances this season, registering three assists.
