Liverpool and Arsenal remaining fixtures as Reds learn points tally that will secure title
Liverpool was handed a major boost in the Premier League title race as Arsenal was beaten by West Ham at the Emirates Stadium over the weekend.
A victory for the Gunners would have closed the gap between first and second to just five points by close of play on Saturday, but as it is the Reds now have an 11-point lead at the top of the table after fully capitalizing on Arsenal's loss by beating Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday.
Liverpool is coming to the end of a tricky run of fixtures that will see them having played five games in the space of 15 days, with the opponents including Everton, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Newcastle.
Of the Reds' 11 remaining league fixtures this season, seven are at home, which gives the team a major advantage in the run-in.

Arsenal won 2-0 at Leicester on February 15 but there were warning signs in the performance as Mikel Arteta's men struggled to break the Foxes down with a makeshift forward line.
A victory over West Ham would've piled the pressure on Liverpool but a front three of Mikel Merino, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri were incapable of finding a goal against the Hammers.
Next up for Arsenal is back-to-back away games against Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, before Chelsea visits the Emirates on March 16.
The Gunners have 12 games remaining in this league season — six at home and six away — and one of the away games is against Liverpool in May, by which point the Anfield faithful may well be in celebratory mood.
The maximum amount of points that Arsenal can end on this season is 89. Liverpool is currently on 64 points with 33 points to play for, and if the improbable happens and Liverpool and Arsenal both win all of their games between now and their game at Anfield in May, anything other than a defeat would see Liverpool clinch the title in that game.
