Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has revealed that he is auctioning a shirt for a charity fundraising drive in his native Holland. Speaking to the Dutch radio station 3FM, he made the pledge as part of their efforts to raise money for Metakids in their Serious Request 2024 initiative.

The station began their 24-hour broadcast on December 18 in order to raise money for the charity organisation which is committed to research into metabolic diseases in children and will continue until December 24. Their efforts have already exceeded €6million before their challenge is completed on Christmas Eve.

Speaking to the radio station on the penultimate day, the Reds boss revealed that a Liverpool shirt is being auctioned off for their efforts. DJs Barend van Deelen, Sophie Hijlkema and Wijnand Speelman will be at Zwolle's Glass House, located near where Slot was born, on Tuesday to reveal the final figure.

He said: "I have offered a signed Liverpool shirt, with all the signatures of the players and myself. That is currently being bid on." The 46-year-old added that if the auction reaches a certain figure then another will be made available and he requested a song that was played before the Feyenoord fixtures, Evil Activities' 'Nobody Said It Was Easy'.

"At the end of the year, you always look back at everything you've had," he added. "I didn't just have a great first half year with Feyenoord, but three fantastic years.

"That's why I thought it was appropriate to choose a song that was always played at Feyenoord just before we went inside at the end of the warm-up. That's Nobody Said It Was Easy by Evil Activities. Good luck in the coming days and I hope you raise a great amount. I hope that Zwolle and the surrounding area show themselves from their best side."

Slot was speaking the morning after his side moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League, following their emphatic 6-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds attention quickly diverts to Leicester City as the Foxes visit Anfield on Boxing Day looking to bounce back from their home defeat to Wolves on Sunday.

Liverpool can move nine points clear of Arsenal on Thursday - should they beat Leicester, before Mikel Arteta's side welcome Ipswich Town on December 27.
