Liverpool boss disagrees with Ruben Amorim and aims huge Man United dig after Tottenham chaos
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has aimed a dig at Manchester United and believes they were "dominated" by Tottenham during Thursday's 4-3 Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat.
Spurs stormed into a three-goal lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to Dominic Solanke's brace and a neat finish from Dejan Kulusevski. However, United were offered a lifeline when Fraser Forster's error led to Bruno Fernandes pulling the ball back for Joshua Zirkzee to tap home from close-range.
Forster then made another mistake to give United a second goal, as his clearance hit Amad Diallo before the ball bounced into the back of the net. There was a real belief that United could grab a leveller, but Spurs added a fourth with two minutes to go as Son Heung-min scored from a direct corner.

Although Jonny Evans bundled home a consolation in stoppage-time, it was too little too late as United were defeated in a seven-goal thriller. And delivering his verdict on Tottenham ahead of Liverpool's trip to north London on Sunday, Slot felt that United deserved to lose the game.
"They are consistent in their style and for me they are a bit unlucky, they dominated against Manchester United and they always like to attack and he plays with three attackers and full-backs join so much," Slot said.
"For me, yesterday was unlucky. Second goal keeper wanted to kick it away and it's still a goal. 4-3! Not many season ticket holders in the country can say they watch so many great games, it's a privilege for them, such a great style."
Meanwhile, Amorim felt United were the better team on the night. The Portuguese, however, argued that Spurs were more clinical and his side didn't take their opportunities, having had 20 shots and created 2.38 xG in comparison to nine shots and 0.67 xG from the home side.
"We showed that in the past games also when we were losing in difficult moments," Amorim said. We disconnect in the beginning of the second half, it was a tough moment for us, like 10 minutes. And then we return, I think we did a great job. I think if you look at all the game, I think we were the best team but they [Spurs] were more clinical. We lose the game but the fight from the lads was really important for me."
