Liverpool could consider a move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this month, according to a report in The Athletic by David Ornstein. The report says that Liverpool would likely have to sell a player this month in order to facilitate the Georgian's arrival.

Kvaratskhelia has emerged as one of the best young wingers in Europe over the last three years, most notably playing a key role in Napoli's first Serie A title success for 33 years in 2022-23.

He is contracted to the Naples club until 2027, but it is reported that lack of movement over a contract renewal with the Italian club has encouraged interest from elsewhere.

Paris Saint-Germain is said to be emerging as the leading contender to sign the Georgia international, but Chelsea and Liverpool are also mentioned as interested clubs.

While there has been a lack of movement over a new deal at Napoli for Kvaratskhelia, he does still have two and a half years left on his current contract, so Napoli is not in any urgent need to sell the winger.

Reds fans may be raising their eyebrows at news of the team's interest in the 23-year-old, considering he primarily operates as a left winger and that is a position that the squad is well stocked in; Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz are both natural left wingers, while Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez can both play there.

Federico Chiesa, who joined Liverpool last summer but has not started a single game in either the Premier League or the Champions League, is said to be player of interest to Napoli as he continues to be linked with a return to Serie A.

However, it is suggested that a potential departure for Chiesa might not be enough to make room in the squad for Kvaratskhelia, so a more prominent player might also have to make way in order to free up room in Arne Slot's squad.
