Liverpool could be forced to battle PSG for ultimate Darwin Nunez replacement
Liverpool could reportedly face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
Isak has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League since moving to England in 2022, and scored his first hat-trick in the division during Newcastle's win over Ipswich on Saturday.
It is reported by Fichajes — so take this with a pinch of salt — that PSG is willing to splurge $104million on Isak during the 2025 summer transfer window.

PSG manager Luis Enrique reportedly thinks that Isak's speed, technical ability and clinical finishing make him a player who fits the Ligue 1 team perfectly.

Newcastle, understandably, would not be willing to let Isak go cheaply, and will almost certainly command a significant higher fee than the $79million it spent on Isak two and a half years ago.
Sweden international Isak has also been touted as a possible addition to Arne Slot's Liverpool squad amid the club's issues in that position.
Liverpool has scored freely this season, but most of the team's goals have been scored by natural wingers in Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.
Darwin Nunez has scored just two Premier League goals all season and doubts remain about whether he has the quality required to lead the line for the Reds, while Diogo Jota has struggled with injuries since joining Liverpool and only recently returned from a near two-month lay-off.
Another striker Liverpool is being linked with is Brighton's Joao Pedro. Football Insider says Liverpool has been tracking Pedro's process and is plotting a move for the Brazilian, but a transfer is not expected to materialise during the January transfer window, with a move next summer more likely, and a fee in excess of $75million touted.
